The Black Chooks are the group that hatched from the Wednesday night Music Sessions.

They were first seen in public at the 2008 Zig Zag Festival,  and survived and even enjoyed the experience.  Then they played at the Hills Folk Club, and were even invited back.  They played at the Heart in the Park day in Stirk Park in 2009 and again at the Hills Folk Club, and then again at the HUGE 2009 Zig Zag Festival, and went on to busk at the Guildford Heritage Festival.

You might say they are developing a liking for this free ranging.

Those Chooks are at it again: They’ve hatched a plan to be at the Hills Folk Club in March. It’s a special night with Ukelele Safari.

Every night is special with the Black chooks.Dave and Jenny provide a feast of ear worms to feed the hungry chooks and Mike and Celia provide an abundance of nibbles and festive drops. So every night is special and we keep coming back for more. All chooks are agreed that the ear worm pest is worth it and we have learned to live with the problem by passing it on to others and are busy infecting friends and innocent passerbys with said earworms. I have heard it said that this is the best session in Perth but we should keep that a secret or we’ll need a bigger venue. We love wednesday nights, thanks to all the chooks for making it so much fun.
